The Federal Ministry of Youth Development Inaugurated the YES! Health Strategy Domestication Implementation Committee

The Federal Ministry of Youth Development has inaugurated the YES! Health Strategy Domestication Implementation Committee, reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to improving the health, well-being, and overall development of young Nigerians.

The inauguration was attended by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Maryam Keshinro, who was represented by the Director, Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS), Mr. Anthony Chukwuka, alongside the Director, Youth Health, Mental and Psychosocial Affairs, Emmanuel Essien, and other key stakeholders, development partners, and health experts. The gathering focused on driving the domestication and effective implementation of the YES! Health Strategy across the country.

Deliberations centered on strengthening youth-focused health interventions, promoting mental health awareness, enhancing psychosocial support services, improving policy coordination, and fostering sustainable partnerships that will positively impact young people nationwide.

Through strengthened collaboration among government institutions, partners, and stakeholders, the initiative marks another important step towards ensuring that Nigerian youths have access to inclusive, responsive, and sustainable health programmes that empower them to thrive and contribute meaningfully to national development.
