The 2-Year Youth Development Strategic Plan is a focused roadmap aimed at addressing the challenges faced by Nigerian youth while unlocking their full potential. Aligned with the national agenda of renewed hope, the plan outlines priority areas such as skills development, job creation, entrepreneurship, youth participation in governance, and social inclusion. Over the next two years, the Ministry will implement targeted programs that equip young people with relevant skills, support youth-led businesses, and promote access to quality healthcare and mental wellness initiatives. The strategy also emphasizes collaboration with the private sector, development partners, and grassroots organizations to drive sustainable impact across the country. Through this plan, the Ministry seeks to create meaningful opportunities that empower young Nigerians to thrive and contribute actively to the nation’s development.
In a bold move to prioritize the needs of Nigerian youth, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, took a decisive step by separating the Ministry of Youth Development from the Ministry of Sports. This restructuring underscores the government’s commitment to addressing youth-specific challenges with tailored solutions.
Since its reformation, the Ministry of Youth Development has been solely focused on the aspirations and empowerment of young Nigerians, championing programs in education, employment, innovation, and leadership. By standing as a distinct entity, the Ministry is now better equipped to serve as a bridge between the aspirations of Nigeria’s youth and the government’s mission to foster national growth.
